Adam is a successful MBA (Masters in Business Administration), fluent in Spanish having lived and studied in Seville (Spain), Madrid and San Sebastián (Basque Country) for many years. He speaks several European languages, including French, Portuguese and some Italian. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Spanish, he later completed his MBA at Kent Business School and dual qualification at the University of Deusto (San Sebastián), during which time he received a distinction in Advanced Business Spanish.
Adam worked as a management accountant for an industrial holding company, and as a professional Spanish to English translator for many years. He is a full member of the Institute of Linguists (MCIL) and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, and is qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). Adam has owned and managed Business Language Services Ltd. for 12 years, after having acquired the company when it was a small language school and translation company in Abergavenny. Adam is ultimately responsible for the overall management and performance of the company, with specific focus on the supervision of all translation work and quality control.

Rhys is a native speaker of English and Welsh. He studied German with Business Studies at Swansea University, which included a year studying at Reutlingen Business School and working as a translator and project manager in Bremen. He then completed a Master’s degree in Translation Studies with Language Technology in 2012.
Rhys was promoted to a senior role of Operations Manager in September 2016 and now works closely with senior management to ensure the successful provision of all of our translation, localisation, interpreting and language training assignments. He plays a key role in ensuring that Business Language Services Ltd. runs smoothly and efficiently so as to meet the needs of our many customers. Rhys continues to be involved in specific translation projects and proof-reads German into English, as required.

Sarah is a native speaker of English and Welsh. She studied BA French & Italian at Cardiff University which included a year studying at the University of Catania in Sicily and the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Geneva. She went on to achieve a Distinction in her Translation Studies MA at Cardiff University. Through her time at university, living abroad and working at Business Language Services Ltd., Sarah also has advanced knowledge of a number of other European Languages, including Spanish and German.
Sarah joined the company in January 2017 as a project manager. In addition to her project management duties, she undertakes Italian to English, French to English, Welsh to English and English to Welsh translation and proofreading. Her specialisations include creative marketing, advertising and literary texts.

Madeleine studied her BA (Hons) in French & Spanish at Cardiff University, which included a year studying at the University of Cáceres in Extremadura and the University of Caen in Normandy. She also has knowledge of German and Russian, and is working to increase her proficiency in these languages.
After graduating, Madeleine worked as a proofreader at a translation company in Buckinghamshire, before progressing into a training role. Madeleine decided to relocate back to South Wales in 2016, and worked for several years in a business development and research role for a financial intelligence company. Madeleine joined Business Language Services Ltd. in April 2019. Alongside her project management duties, Madeleine translates and proofreads French and Spanish texts into English.

Josh is a fluent speaker of Italian and Spanish, and a native speaker of English. He has dedicated most of his career and education to translation and linguistics, acquiring a BA (Hons) in Translation and an MA in Translation Studies in the process.
Josh’s specialisations include comic translation, computerised graphic work and localisation. He often translates from Spanish and Italian into English and edits and proofreads English texts. He is also dedicated to learning Japanese to be able to translate from Japanese to English as well.
Before joining Business Language Services as a Project Manager in June 2019, Josh had worked both as a freelance translator and an IT-focused paralegal in Cardiff.

Tom is a skilled Welsh translator who graduated from Swansea University with a BA in Welsh. During this time, he honed his language skills, and then went on to complete his Masters, also at Swansea University, in Professional Translation, where he learned how to effectively use CAT tools and other industry-standard technologies. He also achieved his Welsh language proficiency award during his studies and completed an internship with a Welsh translation company as a Welsh translator, while also assisting with CAT tool use.
Starting on a temporary contract for Business Language Services towards the end of 2019, Tom has since been offered a full-time, permanent appointment. Since joining the company, Tom has taken on many translation and proofreading jobs as well as providing support to the company in all aspects of Welsh translation.
Tom is currently working towards becoming a full member of Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru, and is driven to improve and develop as a translator.
Abbie studied BA Modern Foreign Languages, a degree comprising in five languages, at Swansea University. During her degree, she spent a year teaching English in a secondary school in Caserta, Italy and then went on to spend some time living in Jerez, Spain. She is a native speaker of English and Welsh and having recently achieved a Masters in Translation Studies at Cardiff University, she is hoping to finally dedicate some time to learning Romanian and Portuguese.
Abbie joined the Business Language Services team in October 2020, and despite only having worked from home during this time, she already feels a valued member of the team. In addition to her daily project management duties, she translates and proofreads French, Spanish, Italian, Welsh and English texts.

Louise studied Translation at Cardiff University, translating texts from French and Italian into English in a number of different subject areas including legal, scientific, technical and marketing. Having successfully completed the BA in translation, Louise then decided to further her skills and knowledge in the field and acquired an MA in translation, also from Cardiff University.
Louise is particularly interested in literary translation, having conducted several projects on the translation of children’s books during her studies at Cardiff and wishes to further her linguistic abilities by improving on her Spanish and Welsh skills.

Holly studied her BA (Hons) German and Spanish at the University of Southampton, which included a year at Philipps-Universität Marburg in Germany and one month working in Spain. She also has an intermediate level of Portuguese and has pursued her passion for languages by studying beginner’s Arabic, Turkish, Romanian and Korean in her free time.
After completing her degree, she worked as a translation project manager at a language service provider in Southampton, before relocating to South Wales and joining BLS at the start of 2021.
In addition to her project management responsibilities, she also translates and proofreads German and Spanish into English texts.

Amelia is a native speaker of Spanish. She studied Spanish <> English sworn translation in Oxford Language Centre, Guatemala, Central America and she also has a Business and Marketing BSc degree and a Masters in Finance. She moved to the UK with her Welsh family in 2014 and has worked as a freelance translator for BBC Wales, for which she successfully translated The Fugitives, Series II. She has also worked in administration roles and as a pricing analyst. She is originally from Guatemala, Latin America, where she held positions as commercial, marketing and sales manager in the construction industry and other important businesses such as Shell Oil Company and the Guatemalan Exporters Association. She also learnt Italian and German at a basic level and is keen to continue studying these languages, as well as French.
Amelia joined BLS in October 2020 as a Business Development Manager. She is in charge of the Customer Care Programme, which enables BLS to be in constant contact with our new and existing customers. Key to Amelia’s role is supporting our project managers and facilitating active and open communication with our customers so that our translation and quality management processes are clearly understood.
