Business Language Services (BLS) provides the following types of English language training courses:
Business English for executives living outside the UK
One-to-one training in the UK is the quickest way to learn English. BLS provides a range of intensive (up to 40 hours’ tuition per week) and semi-intensive courses throughout the year, to suit you.
Following a telephone assessment and written test we will plan your course to maximise the progress you make in the time you have available. We will produce training materials which are relevant to your work and our experienced business English trainers will help you to achieve your aims using a variety of teaching methods.
BLS’s training centre is situated in the Welsh capital, Cardiff. The English cities of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Hereford can all be reached within an hour and London is only 3 hours away.
Activities available locally include fishing, golf, walking, climbing, sailing and hang-gliding, and there are some excellent shops, pubs and restaurants nearby.
We can collect you from any UK airport or station and can arrange accommodation with a host family or in one of the many local B&Bs or hotels. Most of our host families live close to our training centre and they are used to welcoming and caring for our international guests. Trainees have a single room with a desk for working, and your hosts will provide you with breakfast and an evening meal.
A full social programme and relevant company visits are available if required and you will have plenty of opportunities to practice your English outside the lessons. This is an ideal opportunity to improve your English language skills and you will be immersed in British culture throughout your stay.
We provide a report at the end of each English language training course and can arrange for a certificate of attendance and for trainees to sit national examinations if required.
English for people working in the UK
These courses are intended for individuals or groups from the same organisation who work in the UK and who need to improve their English. After an assessment, the course will be designed to meet your requirements, whether they are to improve your negotiation or presentation skills, your communication in meetings or on the telephone or your ability to read or write emails or reports.
All our English language training courses are flexible, to suit your
availability. We offer intensive courses (up to 40 hours’ training
per week) or regular, short sessions over several months. Training can
take place at your workplace or home, BLS’s training centre in
South Wales or another UK venue.
English for families of people working in the UK
These courses are for wives, husbands and children of people who have moved to the UK. We understand that this can be a difficult time for families, having to adapt to a new country and culture, and the success of a move can often depend on how well and quickly families settle in.
