In 2003 Business Language Services won the National Language Training Awards – our language training speaks for itself!
Business Language Services (BLS) provides the following English as a Foreign Language courses:
Business English for executives living outside the UK
One-to-one training in the UK is the quickest way to learn English. BLS provides a range of intensive (up to 35 hours’ tuition per week) and semi-intensive courses throughout the year, at a time to suit you. This can either be delivered on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis (provided both students have the same level and objectives).
Following a telephone assessment and a written test we will plan your course to maximise the progress you make in the time you have available. We will produce training materials which are relevant to your work, and our experienced business English trainers will help you to achieve your aims using a variety of teaching methods, in and outside class. We can indeed organise ‘outdoors’ sessions to give you a different focus and real-life practice of what you have studied in class – at the coffee shop, at the market, a wander around the streets, a cultural or business-related visit. After one week of intensive training with us, you will be amazed at the progress you have made. Training can obviously last more than one week.
BLS’s training centre is situated in the attractive, bustling City of Cardiff, Wales’ colourful capital city. If you are flying to London from your home-country, Cardiff can be easily reached by car or train but it also has its own airport. Another alternative is to use Bristol airport, about one hour away, which provides good flight routes too. Cardiff has got many good hotels and we will be happy to make recommendations and help you find suitable accommodation.
If you are extending your stay beyond your training itself, why not take time to visit Wales and all it has to offer, from pub and rugby culture (we are right opposite the Millennium Stadium!) to the great outdoors and the Welsh hills (the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains, Snowdonia).
Having English training in the UK will enable you to have plenty of opportunities to practice your English outside the lessons, when you go out for a meal, do a spot of shopping, take a taxi, check in and out of your hotel or ask your way in the street. This is an ideal opportunity to improve your English language skills and you will be immersed in British culture throughout your stay.
We can provide a report at the end of each English language training course and can also arrange for a certificate of attendance.
English for people working in the UK
These courses are intended for individuals or groups who already live and work in the UK and who need to improve their English. After an assessment, the course will be designed to meet your requirements, whether they are to improve your negotiation or presentation skills, your communication in meetings or on the telephone or your ability to read or write emails or reports.
All our English language training courses are flexible, to suit your availability. We offer intensive courses (up to 35 hours’ training per week) or regular, short sessions over several months. Training can take place at your workplace or home, BLS’s training centre in Cardiff or another UK venue.
English for families of people working in the UK
These courses are for wives, husbands and children, and any relatives of people who have moved to the UK. We understand that this can be a difficult time for families, having to adapt to a new country and culture, and the success of a move can often depend on how well and quickly families settle in. Business Language Services can provide a flexible solution for family members of all ages.
